�The Big Ask� isn�t exactly emotionally authentic, but it makes a concerted effort to represent the scattered mindset of grief and depression. To help plumb the depths of woe, it employs a slightly comical premise to ease viewers into murky psychology, teasing a randy farce when all the film would like to do is sit down and cry.
