A Greek artisan is commissioned to cast the cup of Christ in silver and sculpt around its rim the faces of the disciples and of Jesus himself. He travels from Jerusalem to Rome to complete the task. Meanwhile, another person is trying to convince the crowds by trickery that the artisan is the Messiah himself.
