Irish comedy following metrosexual groom-to-be Fionnan, who would rather go to his fianc�e Ruth's hen party (i.e. bachelorette party) than his own stag do (i.e. bachelor weekend). Ruth manages to persuade his best friend Davin to arrange the stag weekend, however, and he opts for a weekend of outdoor pursuits with the boys, in the west of Ireland. Despite their best efforts to avoid him, they are joined by Ruth's maniac brother known as 'The Machine', who turns an intended low-key affair into a series of misadventures. Will Fionnan make it back to his future wife unscathed?

The stag party is not an uncommon premise for a comedy, permitting filmmakers with ample opportunity to stage all types of drunken debauchery and expose pent-up aggressions. Emerging from Ireland, �The Bachelor Weekend� eschews traditional hell-raising to play out as a comedy of neuroses and secrets, trusting in the significance of character and sharp dialogue to help shape the evolution of a celebration as it goes from hesitation and dismissal to bonding.
