When beautiful fashion model, Julia North is struck by a car, a strange and fascinating series of events are set into motion. Elsewhere, an ordinary housewife, Mary Frances (Mare Winningham), has a brain hemorrhage. Both women are presumed dead until their fates are joined in what becomes the first ever brain transplant. After a brilliant surgeon (Jeffrey DeMunn) transplants Julia's still functioning brain into Mary Frances' body, Julia must contend with her new face and life.
