�Young Werther� goes all the way back for its inspiration, serving as an adaptation of a 1774 novel (�The Sorrows of Young Werther�) by Johann Wolfgang Goethe. Opening information for the picture lists the book as a creation that caused a �literary tizzy,� and while the wilds of movie exhibition are usually unpredictable, it�s a safe bet such fandom won�t find its way to this film.
