Half of the young Italians have not even read a book during the last year. This is only one of the results emerged from the Doxa survey, carried out on a sample of 1. 400 people, realised to figure out habits, thoughts and consumptions of the young compatriots.
Physic health, home and family make happy our teenagers. Among the favourite hobbies there are watching tv and surfing the Internet, but don't ask them to leafthrough the pages of a book. To the great majority of the appealed, the mobile phone is an entirely essential tool: only 9 out of 100 don't have got a laptop.
Not so many of them have a good relationship with teachers, while the relationship among the peer is improving.
Working as a doctor is the most required profession, while becoming a football player is mainly a dream.
Little attitude towards discotheques downstairs: homes and pizzerias are the habitual hangouts.
The relationship with money starts before the 14, the age during which come the first pocket money - about 14 euros, which at the age of 17/18 become 23 - mainly spended on phone recharges.
Among the purchases also the brand-name suit receive a special care. Computers are mainly used at home, with connections rarely overcoming an hour. The youngest have an out-and-out admiration for digital cameras or Ipods. (Apple's mp3 players). Among the activities, sport is at the first place but also visiting museums can be intersting.
