Now that we mention English writing, then I talk about my measures and habbits of writing English compositions. In junior high and senior high school, most people disregard intense training of English compositions. Because not all of students would study English or foreign literature, English teachers usually say ”Unlike Chinese compositions, English compositions don’t possess complicated presentation or introduction、elucidation of the theme、transition and summing up and ”. It seems that there are no perfect articles to express moods, the ordinary articles merely reveal daily life and so on. It’s a authentic notion, however, the purpose of composing just aim at the entrance exams, like the Basic Competence Test and the General Scholastic Ability Test’s writing without much moods or feeling. As a student of foreign languages department, how could I believe English literature are just a non-sense writing. If I do not keep my faith on translation novels, I could not have bought the original versions when I read the wonderful sentences and paragraphs in translation novels. I still believe our mind vibrated to English literatures. Furthermore, I always construct delicate words and sentences and then translate them into English word by word. So a poor composition is given birth!!! Doing so not only reduces (could I uses “decreases”? ) the efficiency of composing but also makes errors (are there some differences between error and fault? ) easily on the composition. Maybe l lack reading, right? Just like this paragraphs, before starting English composition, I always write down Chinese draft. Why I attach Chinese version? Perhaps my paragraph is so hard to read! What’s more, everytime I want to write something, I do not know which word I should use. I’m afraid of using inappropriate word so that the meaning of the sentence or paragraph will be distorted. I think more reading and memorizing is not enough and we still need adequate knowledge about how to use words exactly, don’t we? My Chinese essay is utterly awful, but it seems English composition is even harder! In the last class, I was surprised and touched by a new notion-------freewriting! I remember I once read a writing pointing out that one of the factors contributing to bad articles is the leaping thought. Based on another angle, freewriting is a writing mode of “ be bold to write and correct with care”. This new notion could encourage me to write.
