The text to correct from user ahmadreza
The author explains why global warming is a serious problem. Likewise, the speaker explains the impact of global warming in the northeastern United States.
The author says there has been a marked increase in Earth's temperature since industrial revolution. Scientists discovered this rise in the temperature has occurred as a result of greenhouse gases increase. Greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, trap heat in the atmosphere. The presence of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are natural to some extent, but artificial greenhouse gases resulting from deforestation and burning fossil fuels will lead to a rise in the earth's temperature. Scientists believe that global warming continues in the 21st century and predict it has a number of effects. First, Global warming will change weather patterns and cause extreme weather conditions such as hurricanes. In addition, the poles' ice and snow will melt and sea levels will rise. This can lead to flood and drought and consequently may result in extinction of some plant and animal species. It can also affect the economy, particularly agricultural and transportation sectors. Economists predict that global warming will lead to a drop in gross national product and consumer consumption in countries around the world.
The speaker says there's no doubt that the earth's temperature is rising, he explains the effects of global warming in the northeastern part of the United States. He quotes from a report about that during the past half century the temperature has been rising in this area and the length of cold season has been shortened. There are also fewer days with snow on the ground than there used to be. This phenomenon has caused some economic problem for this area because its economy is based on skiing tourism. Due to decrease of snow fall companies have to use artificial snow that is more expensive. Moreover, some businesses such as hotels and companies that hire out skiing stuff are facing difficulties as a result of fewer tourists coming to the region.
If nothing is done to decrease the level of greenhouse gases, it will cause more and more problems and result in serious damages in some areas. Furthermore, melting poles ice consequently rising the sea levels can lead to uncontrolled events.
