I just want to put this here. This is a sentiment I share with, I think, many other artists. I'll try to keep my words brief. AI art, which I've chosen to refer to as generative imagery, holds no place in the artistic sphere. Art is created via passion and understanding, elements a computer can never uphold. A person who creates generative imagery is nothing more than a commissioner to the machine. It is stolen artwork, taken without knowledge or consent of the artist/s, and scrambled to unrecognition. I believe it is nothing more than theft, made even worse when sold. I do believe it is fine to use generative imagery as a tool, whether for inspiration or reference. However, I do not believe it should ever be claimed as the property of anyone.
