Franklin's Magic Christmas Review: Franklin and his family are getting ready to spend their Christmas vacation with their grandparents. He accidently left his precious plush dog Sam before taking off. That's quite a bad start to enjoy the holidays with extended family. He even blamed his little sister Harriet for leaving Sam by avoiding her. I suppose we're like that to our younger siblings when we were Franklin's age, but I knew he'll apologize for being cross to Harriet later in the film. What made the film magical was the memory Franklin's grandma shared when she discovered a mysterious magical bell way back then. The magic bell attracted a couple of reindeers, but the call scared the reindeer, leaving young Granny Turtle (Jenny) troubled. The Turtle family were supposed to make Grandpa's sleigh a surprise, but the icy slip resulted their grandfather to have a broken leg. Franklin almost went back to Woodland alone, but lucky for him, Harriet slipped out from the attic and hid
Another one of my favorite unofficial Christmas specials. The Lyoko warriors are all prepared for the holidays except our beloved angelic princess Aelita. Having no other relatives to reunite, she chose to look out for XANA at the academy. I highly doubt Odd and Ulrich would really enjoy their holidays with their own families considering the issues they had to suffer back home. As usual with the Stern family, his dad continues to condemn about his failing academic performance. I loved how Ulrich 1-upped his dad about taking "happy pills" because I felt his dad was expecting his son to be a perfectionist, something Ulrich doesn't want to be. That little girl making silly faces was so cute even Ulrich needed to giggle every once a while. It's too bad his dad thought Ulrich was laughing at his failures when he's really laughing at the little girl. His relationship with his parents would end up with resentment as he risked himself to escape from his parents while stuck in traffic. That
The first of the unofficial Christmas episodes I've seen besides Code: Lyoko and Liberty's Kids. Yuuko and the black Trokona (Mokona, but yes. These bunnies are such lovable trolls.) are in their Santa outfits (quite Christmassy too, just by looking at their fashion sense), preparing for the ultimate snow showdown at the park. This episode was comical at its best, especially how the comedy was fitting to the episode. The snowball showdown was magically epic between the Ame Warashi and Yuuko. The episode namesake was also true to Watanuki's reactions about Yuuko and the random attacks by the Zashiki Warashi's bodyguards. These puny bodyguards always thought Watanuki makes her cry (in a bad way), but they don't seem to pay much attention to the Zashiki Warashi's fragile emotional state. As for Yuuko, she's such a troll that you'll either enjoy her teasing antics or feel sorry for Watanuki throughout. Final Score: 9/10
