Sprite Stuff: 'DBDC Legends' Flashpoint Goku by SXGodzilla on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

or, to be precise, Kakarot aka: 'Subject One' of 'Project Saiyan' in the DBDC Flashpoint timeline.

As shown in my recent journal entry: [Dragon Ball DC] Goku in the DC Multiverse

AS STATED BEFORE, THIS IS NOT OFFICIAL CANON FOR THE FAN SERIES PROJECT BY :icongeeksforfun:

Like this world's Superman (Sprite Stuff: 'Project Superman'), Goku's spacepod doesn't crash into the country fields of Smallville, but the city of Metropolis. After the fiery carnage that ensues, the government swoops in and confiscates the pod and the infant.

But that's about where the similarities to Kal-El end, as through their studies... the scientists of what would become known as 'Project Saiyan' (named from what info they could gleam from the Space Pod) learned that the small alien child (Subject One) had a remarkable biological property... whatever doesn't physically kill him... literally makes him stronger. Intrigued by this, it was decided to 'test his limitations'. Again and again young Kakarot was put into seemingly dire circumstances, repeatedly injured and almost maimed... only to come back stronger and stronger each time. Only for the process to resume upon his recovery (if needed).

For years, this process continued, and as he grew stronger... the tests needed to be 'upped' in strength. Soon realizing, early on, that they'd need a means to control him... an 'obedience device' was attached to his chest. Should Subject One get out of line, he would be hit by a massive shock. The amplitude/voltage had to be increased constantly over this time period. These were also used as punishment, such as when field tests went horribly wrong.

When Barry Allen/Wally West and his team tried to come 'save him', they quickly realized that this version of Goku was NOT much of a team player. While the 'rescue' ended in failure, it DID push the heads of 'Project Saiyan' to unleash their pet project upon the battlefield during the penultimate final battle of the Atlantean-Amazonian War.

And he made quite an entrance, taking out the traitorous turncoat Enchantress with a chaotic blast of ki that shredded the witch. Thrilled at the prospect of actual battle, and being able to cut loose... Subject One steadily went more and more berserk as he fought the various forces of each group... not caring that he was technically supposed to be on the side of Cyborg's allies. Realizing, perhaps too late, that they needed to reel their 'Weapon' in, "Project Saiyan" tried to activate his obedience disk... but by this point it was too little too late. The energy that Kakarot was putting forth was too much for the electrical device to handle... and in one brilliant motion... Subject One broke the leash that had long held him as he hit into a powerful 'Wrath State'. He brutally tore Cyborg apart, and was making short work of the Element Woman as he tried to push his way towards Aquaman and Wonder Woman.

But by this point, events around them had spiraled further and further to a cataclysmic finish as the world was literally crumbling due to the devastating effects of the Atlantean-Amazonian War (and undoubtedly exasperated by Subject One's thunderous transformation)... only averted/ended when Barry Allen/Wally West decided to go back and 'undo' the damage he had done to the timestream.

God that's alotta text for something I (initially) just put together in one sitting. :D

The basic concept behind this version of Goku is that, due to his 'upbringing' in a government lab, he's become more or less like the O.G. Broly. Mentally unstable and prone to lashing out, only kept 'in check' by an increasingly flimsy means of control... and eventually all crescendos when he unleashes his 'Wrath State'.

Used the upper torso of SSJ4 Goku (still don't quite know who made the original sprites, sorry) with the lower legs of the Great Saiyaman Gohan by :icondeviantarter1236:

EDIT: Added his 'Wrath State' form, and since he's not quite as skilled or trained as normal Gokus... he's basically also like the short-lived 'Ultra' form Trunks got during the Cell Saga... mixed with the original Broly. Maybe not as inhibited in speed and reflexes like Trunks.

Made using the upper-half of the DC Comics Nappa sprite I made, which was made using Broly's upper body. Used the lower half of the awesome 'Ultra Trunks' sprite made by :iconmpadillathespriter: as it was pretty much perfect for this.

Mixed the hair of the 'normal' state Goku with that of Super Saiyan hair to make this version of the 'Wrath State'. The control device/obedience disk either exploded from overload... or 'Subject One' tore it out.
