Synopsis
Year 1913. Anton is a young cavalry officer seeking to complete his training in the army. During his training, he meets Edith, the disabled daughter of a baron, and is attracted to her. In the run-up to the First World War, Anton is torn between his military duty and the possibility of a future with Edith, whose health is failing... Adapted from the novel by Stefan Zweig.
