Synopsis
Gladys Aylward, an intrepid British missionary, set up a hostel in China to accommodate the exhausted and hungry travelers who were trekking through the mountains. She also managed to gain the trust and admiration of the hostile natives, win the love of a Eurasian colonel and convert a powerful Mandarin to Christianity. But his greatest feat was achieved when in 1938, in the face of the imminent Japanese invasion, he led a hundred homeless children across the mountains to safety.
