Synopsis
Biographical film of the boxer José Manuel Ibar Azpiazu "Urtain", made even before the fighter won his first European Championship title in 1970. The great popularity achieved by Urtain in the late 60's attracted the director and screenwriter Manuel Summers to shoot this documentary about the phenomenon of his figure in the boxing world. With the basic idea that man is more animal than rational, Summers starts the documentary with reflections on human violence in fights, wars, etc. and links it to the world of boxing. From there, he intersperses a series of interviews with the Basque boxer and also with his family, friends and trainers. Among the interviewees, there are well-known faces in brief interventions such as José Legrá, Marisol, the bullfighter Palomo Linares or the soccer players Amancio and Paco Gento. It is also interesting the interview that a young reporter José María García makes to Urtain, trying to get him to confess if there is any kind of "tongo" or not in the fights.
