Synopsis

Film inspired by the novel of the same name by Georges Bernanos. A young priest arrives in a small town in northern France, where he takes charge of his first parish. Although he carries out his priestly duties with diligence and humility, he is ignored and even rejected by his parishioners. Convinced that he had failed as a pastor of souls, he suffered a profound crisis of faith. In such circumstances, he will also have to face a serious illness.
