- ✅ Establish Clear Hybrid Work Etiquette and Expectations To effectively manage hybrid work environments, companies must set clear guidelines for work etiquette and expectations for both in-person and digital work. NABR has observed a growing need for clarity in hybrid work protocols, especially as many employers evaluate the need for increased in-person days. Currently, leadership is hesitant to enforce hybrid rules due to concerns about retaining top talent, creating uncertainty and inconsistency across workplaces. HR executives are urging company leaders to define and enforce hybrid work expectations, equipping management with the necessary tools for accountability. ✅ Prioritize In-Person Training and Development One of the main challenges with hybrid work is the decline in training and development quality. Survey data highlights that new employees and recent graduates struggle to understand what success looks like and the effort required to achieve it in a remote or hybrid setting. Digital training alone hasn’t fully addressed this issue, and NABR recommends a renewed focus on in-person training sessions, collaborative workdays, and mentorship programs for your professionals to enhance learning and performance. ✅ NABR’s Recommendations for Executive Leaders 1. Don’t Use In-Person Requirements as a “Weapon.” While enforcing in-person workdays may lead to some attrition, avoid using hybrid policies to indirectly manage workforce size. If a return-to-office policy is needed due to business reasons, be transparent about the rationale and business case, focusing on culture and performance rather than a strategy to downsize. 2. Embrace a Hybrid Work Culture. Hybrid work offers a unique opportunity to engage employees by recognizing that remote work often involves balancing home and family responsibilities. Forward-thinking leaders are creating family-supportive perks, like assistance for employees with aging parents, parenting workshops, financial planning resources, and programs that benefit employees’ loved ones as well.#Leadership #LeadershipTips #ThoughtLeadership
