⚠️ New year, new signage. We're better protecting our people with refreshed jobsite signage across our jobsites. With clear and consistent utility markers, flags, and hole covers, we're cutting down on utility strikes and falls. Plus, our new signs feature bold icons and larger Spanish text to make sure everyone can read them easily. This reflects our safety-first mindset and our commitment to getting 1% better every day.

Senior Field Training Coordinator at Brasfield and Gorrie

Feeling incredibly blessed to work at an organization that truly values training. We identified a gap between our Basic Field Engineer class and when someone is ready to lay out a job independently. This gap could only be bridged by providing students with the exact tools our field engineers use, like a computer with Carlson CAD Software and Leica iCon Robotic Total Stations—a significant investment indeed. Our leadership saw beyond the expense and greenlit this essential class. This course is designed to guide students from mobilization to demobilization across four unique project types. In this session, we covered collecting and tightening surveyor control, building a foundation CAD file from scratch, field calibration of equipment, checking all tools for accuracy, basic and some intermediate layout functions, and the proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment. We have 12 eager students ready to absorb everything we offer. A massive thank you to the Orlando location of B&G Equipment and Supply, Jacob Alan Brown, and my two phenomenal instructors, @Murphy Wilson and Robert Eckart! In honor of the building's recent rededication, we're looking back at our restoration of the Alton Lennon Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in Wilmington, North Carolina. Built in 1919 as a U.S. Customs House, the historic federal building was heavily impacted by Hurricane Florence in 2018. The recovery project was funded via the Disaster Relief Act of 2019 to address the repair and alteration required from the extended power loss, water infiltration, and associated environmental concerns. Construction started in early 2021 and wrapped up ahead of schedule in the fall of 2023. It was an honor to be a part of the restoration and preservation of this critical infrastructure project and architectural icon.
