- 🎉 We've been lucky to have Moira Crehan as our intern this summer! Moira is a talented college student with a passion for innovation in the biotech industry. 🤖 Over the summer, Moira has been working closely with the team, contributing to the development of the Odyssey System, our cutting-edge cell therapy process automation technology, as well as helping on business development efforts. - We are happy to announce a Phase I SBIR awarded to us by The National Institutes of Health/NIH SEED + National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) program. 🔬 This award (R43TR005112) will support the further development of our innovative Odyssey System platform towards a novel use case, namely for standardizing the preparation and delivery of cell-laden hydrogel based therapies. We believe tissue-engineered therapeutics will become a major modality used in the treatment of chronic solid-tissue based diseases, but will require significant standardization and simplification before they can be translated to patients at meaningful scale. The proposed research will enable us to adopt our technology for these emerging therapies. 🏥 Please follow us to stay updated on our progress! 🗞

Nico is a Biomedical Engineer by training (BS and MS from Johns Hopkins University). During school, he was an undergraduate and graduate student researcher and developed animal-inspired robots (snakes, specifically) for search and rescue missions. 🤖 🐍 Most recently, he was a Systems Integration Engineer in J&J’s Robotics and Digital Solutions group, where he developed algorithms to make robotic and laparoscopic surgical tools “smarter”, with the goal of improving patient outcomes during surgery. 🏥 We look forward to his contributions towards the development of the Odyssey System - join us in welcoming Nico to the team! 🌟
