A few weeks ago, Chicago Children's Museum was happy to host Association of Children's Museums Board Leaders as part of the Association of Science and Technology Centers Annual Conference in Chicago! CCM staff were able to show 'behind the scenes' of the museum, our exhibits including our newest, Aim High, and – of course – get a group picture with Flyboy! Thank you to the Association of Children's Museums members who joined us for this special morning from Museum of Discovery and Science, Griffin Museum of Science and Industry, Madison Children's Museum, The Children's Museum of Memphis, DISCOVERY Children's Museum, Bay Area Discovery Museum, Boston Children's Museum, Providence Children's Museum, and Children's Museum of Tucson. And thank you to the many other professionals who visited the museum throughout the week of ASTC!

Aim High: Soaring with the Tuskegee Airmen featuring Black Wings: American Dreams of Flight has officially been open for a week! The exhibit features hands-on activities to explore STEAM concepts while honoring the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen. Last Thursday, Chicago Children's Museum had the pleasure of hosting donors and museum members for A Closer Look to get a sneak peek before the exhibit opened to the public! This event also featured a corner conversation with Board Member, author, and scholar Dr. Nicholas Pearce and John W. Rogers, Jr., Founder, Chairman, Co-CEO and Chief Investment Officer of Ariel Investments, whose father, John W. Rogers, Sr., served as a Tuskegee Airman. Thank you to all who joined us, to John W. Rogers, Jr. for taking the time to share with us, and to The Field Foundation of Illinois, local sponsor of this exhibit. #ThisJustIn ⚡ Chicago Children's Museum is among one of the partner organizations that have been awarded a Climate Smart Humanities Organizations grant as a part of the Caretakers of Wonder project, led by Madison Children's Museum! This grant, awarded by the National Endowment for the Humanities, will support continued efforts in sustainability work and reducing our carbon footprint.
