One of the first companies to pioneer secondhand clothing as an alternative to traditional retail, Crossroads Trading has been buying, selling, and consigning name brand and designer clothing in a friendly, fun, and fashionable atmosphere since 1991. Since opening the doors of its first location in the heart of San Francisco’s Fillmore District, Crossroads has expanded over time to 38 retail locations spanning Northern California, Southern California, the Pacific Northwest, New York, Texas, Denver, and Chicago. And in recent years, Crossroads has added Sell-By-Mail and Concierge programs to provide convenient new ways for fashionable and eco-conscious customers to sell their gently used clothing. Just two weeks to go until the kickoff the UW campus-wide sustainability competition hosted by GetGreen! The Go Green or Go Home contest is a campus-wide sustainability competition aimed at encouraging students, faculty, and staff at the University of Washington and University of Washington Bothell to take impactful actions toward reducing waste and energy consumption. Running from October 14 to December 6, 2024, the contest uses the GetGreen app to make environmental action simple and accessible through daily eco-tasks. ⌛ LONGEVITY SERIES ⌛ Lia Finkelstein --- Lia’s 29-year journey with Crossroads started in 1995 at our Fillmore Street, San Francisco store as an Assistant Manager, where her business sense and love for fashion were soon recognized. In 1999, Lia was asked to spearhead a new market for the Crossroads brand, moving to Los Angeles and opening our first store in the world-famous shopping district of Melrose Avenue. Since that store, she’s overseen the growth of the Southern California district from Santa Barbara to Orange County. Lia is now the Regional Manager of Southern California and New York districts, overseeing 14 stores and growing. Over Lia’s 26 years with Crossroads, she credits her success and longevity to hard work, commitment and flexibility; but most significantly, a shared value embodied by her two mentors, late co-founder Jerry Block and CRO Melissa Laubstein, to “Do the right thing and do it right.”
