- Based on yesterday’s rain, the Mary & John Elliot Charitable Foundation had to make the challenging decision to cancel The Elliot’s Annual Fall-Fest Golf Tournament. We were so looking forward to spending the afternoon gathering in support of the Elliot Breast Health Center. Thank you so much to everyone who has shown us such kindness and understanding with the decision not to play in the rain. We are grateful to event sponsors including BOND Building Construction, New York Life Insurance Company, Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital Network, New England PET Imaging, Aqueduct Technologies, Inc., Interstate Electrical Services, CGI Business Solutions, and Charles Schwab. A special thank you to our long-time partner and event host, Passaconaway Country Club, who has supported our decision and looks forward to hosting us next year!

- My name is Elysa Caisey. I am an emergency department technician at Elliot Hospital. As an emergency department (ED) tech, my role is to support the medical team by performing various tasks that ensure efficient patient care in a fast-paced environment. I assist with providing immediate medical care to patients experiencing a range of urgent health issues, from traumatic injuries to acute illnesses. I help with patient assessments, take vital signs, perform basic procedures like wound care and splinting, and help transport patients within the hospital. I also maintain a clean and organized workspace, restock supplies, and provide comfort and reassurance to patients and their families during stressful situations. My work is essential in facilitating the smooth operation of the emergency department, allowing nurses and physicians to focus on their roles. I became an ED tech after a year of working on staffing pool. Elliot was the first hospital I ever worked at, and I wanted to learn each floor before finding a home. The first time I floated to the ED, I fell in love. I loved the fast-paced environment, the diversity of patients being seen, and the patient satisfaction after being treated. I love being an ED tech because of the impact I have every day on patients' lives during their most vulnerable moments. The sense of accomplishment I feel after helping to stabilize a patient or supporting my nurses and doctors in a critical situation is incredibly rewarding. Working in the emergency room, you are continuously learning, and it has inspired me to go back to school for nursing. It is an honor to work alongside a team that genuinely cares and goes above and beyond for each patient who walks through our doors.

- Though his given name, Harlow Raymond, is reserved for legal purposes, he is known to everyone at The Elliot as Buzz. Affectionately nicknamed at birth by his 4- and 5-year-old sisters, he has dedicated 17 years to volunteering at The Elliot. His journey with The Elliot began in 2007 after retiring from a distinguished 37-year career at BAE Systems in Nashua, where he engaged in all facets of software development and retired as manager of human resources systems. Originally from Niagara Falls, Buzz moved to New Hampshire in 1967 as a computer programmer. He also served as a medic in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1962 to 1968. After retiring, he chose to volunteer at The Elliot due to its proximity to his home, starting as an on-call volunteer. Over time, he transitioned to the hospital mailroom and now serves again as an on-call volunteer, running errands such as delivering flowers and picking up supplies from the blood bank. Buzz enjoys the social interactions and camaraderie that come with his volunteer work, finding joy in being around people and talking with friends. He has met and worked with many employees and still looks forward to coming in several mornings a week to spend time with his many Elliot friends. Thank you, Buzz, for being such an important part of The Elliot.
