For 40 years, we've welcomed the next generation of medical oncologists to our practice. While our clinics are community-based, our physicians benefit from the same resources offered by most well-established academic centers: technology, research, diagnostic testing and services and beyond. What sets FCS apart from the academic centers, however, is that many of our physicians have built their careers at FCS - straight out of fellowship. Early diagnosis saves lives. In his most recent article in the Citrus County Chronicle, FCS medical oncologist and hematologist Dr. Sunil Gandhi highlights the critical importance of early diagnosis in managing Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute is proud to offer free virtual support groups for cancer patients and caregivers. Support groups provide a confidential, co-ed and nonjudgmental space for patients and their loved ones to find support during their cancer journey. Programs are facilitated by licensed clinical social workers from the FCS Care Coordination team. Our Caregiver Support Group helps loved ones learn how to care for themselves while coping with the highs and lows of caring for someone with cancer.
