Inspiring a lifetime of learning.
About us
Here at Fred Rogers Productions, kids come first, now and always. We connect with them through shows that are fun, relatable, and put their social and emotional learning front and center. That’s how we’ve earned the trust of parents, caregivers, and teachers. We bring our one-of-a-kind expertise in early childhood development to partnerships with talented creators, writers, illustrators, animators, and producers. Together, we create shows that foster a natural enthusiasm for learning and that make kids smile while they learn big life lessons. And we are always exploring how to make the most of new ways for kids to watch and play.

This month our fellows attended a “Writing for a New Show” workshop with three incredible guest speakers. Fracaswell Hyman, who has written, directed, produced, and acted in a variety of PBS, Disney, and Off Broadway productions;Sara Farber, Emmy Award-nominated writer and story editor for Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood; and Diana Aydin, who we are proud to say is a Writers’ Neighborhood alumna and now a staff writer on Alma’s Way. Fellow Amanda Maisonave shared a big takeaway: “Having a script you write go through many changes is totally normal; it’s not a sign that you don’t belong in a writers’ room.” -

We can't get more full circle than this! This season in Alma's Way, the Riveras visit the American Museum of Natural History. In the episode, Alma learns how to manage feeling impatient and appreciating different ways to navigate the exhibits. Alma returned this October for an in-person screening event at the Museum that included some of our staff, show creator and EP, Sonia Manzano, and many educational activities for families. Thank you to our event sponsor Citizens and the Museum team for helping put on such a memorable event. Now in its third year, the program focuses on building sustainable writing careers within the children's media business.

It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood as we announce the expansion of our partnership with Fred Rogers Productions. This multi-year licensing agreement will bring the beloved characters from Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Alma’s Way, Donkey Hodie, and Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood to six of our amusement parks across the United States. Beginning this fall, visitors during Dutch Wonderland’s Happy Hauntings event will have the chance to meet and greet iconic characters like Daniel Tiger, Katerina Kittycat, and O the Owl. We’re thrilled to create unforgettable moments for families and celebrate the values of kindness and learning that Fred Rogers exemplified. Learn more about the expansion of Fred Rogers Productions first-ever theme park agreement here: https://lnkd.in/eJfAnscD - Last week, we welcomed education teams from PBS stations across the nation to our home in Pittsburgh for the NETA conference. Thank you to everyone that came by our booth, attended one of our sessions, or said hello to Miss Elaina. It's always a great day in our Neighborhood when we can connect with stations and teams in-person!
