Updates
- ‼️ Hey Rumpke Waste & Recycling customers, did you know you can now include clamshell plastic containers in your recycling carts? ♻️ New artificial intelligence and optic technology now allow Rumpke to separate plastic clamshells from other recycling containers and send them directly to end-users that create new plastic pellets. You can now help the environment even more after enjoying our local and sustainable lettuce.
- We value freshness in our products and satisfaction for our customers. That's why our packaging is designed so your lettuce can stay crisper longer! Our Caesar salad kits' crunchy croutons and aged parmesan cheese stay fresher longer so you can enjoy farm-fresh lettuce on the go.
- The leafy duo you'll want to share (or not!) 🤼 Tender, curly red-leaf lettuce is ideal for our signature crisp, curly greens. Beautiful in color, nutrient-rich, and complementary in texture. Find our Red & Green lettuce in your local grocery store!
- Agriculture uses 70% of the world’s fresh water. Hydroponic growing, like ours, uses 98% LESS WATER than conventional growing methods. We cut down our water use by reusing the water and minerals in our greenhouse. Our lettuce does not need to be washed, which also saves water.
- Hydroponic growing uses one-fifth of the land that field growing needs to achieve the same results. Our growing process works so that our lettuce is always in the best possible conditions for the current life stage, and since our plants don’t have to fight for nutrients, we can grow them closer together than would be possible in a field. Hydroponic growing can also be done in urban areas. We can feed more people, with less room, in places that traditionally would not be able to be used for growing fresh produce effectively.
- Being a local farm (based in Hudson, OH) allows us to reduce our carbon footprint. Since we do not have to transport our lettuce from states thousands of miles away, we use fewer fossil fuels and have a significantly smaller carbon footprint than other farms.
- Field-grown lettuce uses far more water than hydroponically-grown lettuce for many reasons. One of the main reasons we use less water is that we filter and reuse the water in our facility. We also save you water and time by growing lettuce that does not need to be washed. Our lettuce is grown ready to eat: no dirt, no chemicals, no pollutants, and no added preservatives.
- Because we grow indoors and in a controlled environment without dirt, pesticides, pollution or preservatives, we can reduce the risk of diseases like E-Coli and other food-borne illnesses compared to traditional growing methods. We can also make sure there are no harmful chemicals on our plants.
- We've had a clear vision for the perfect lettuce since the beginning! After exploring hundreds of non-GMO lettuce seeds and varieties, we found the perfect curly, crisp, delicious lettuce that stays mind-bogglingly fresh for 3+ weeks!
- Our sustainable growing process and safer farming practices are designed to protect our lettuce supply and our customers by eliminating outside factors and human elements.
