About us

Georgia Tech Professional Education is an academic division of the Georgia Institute of Technology, a top 10 ranked public university by U.S. News & World Report. Professional Education offers short courses, certificate programs and professional master’s degrees to meet the needs of working professionals and industry partners. Programs are available worldwide through a variety of face-to-face, blended learning, and online formats. In addition to professional course offerings, the division administers K-12 outreach and English as a Second Language programs, and manages meeting and event facilities. Professional Education educates over 13,000 individual learners representing more than 3,000 companies on an annual basis, and is located at the Georgia Tech Global Learning Center in Atlanta and at the Georgia Tech-Savannah campus.

Last week, Georgia Tech’s Master of Science in Analytics (MSA) program celebrated its 10th anniversary. “It’s inspiring to see how far MSA has come in the last decade,” said Joel Sokol, director of both MSA and its online counterpart, OMS Analytics. “We began with a small cohort of around 40 students, and now, 10 years later, we have students from over 100 countries and every continent. With more than 5,000 alumni, we’re proud to have one of the largest alumni networks among analytics and data science programs, spanning every industry and role from entry to C-suite.”

Join us in congratulating Zhaozhou Tang, PhD candidate in Georgia Tech’s School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, for winning the Distinguished Paper Award at ACM CCS (Computing and Communications Security) 2024! The outstanding research focused on automotive cybersecurity. OMS Cybersecurity Professor Saman Zonouz, who also presented at the conference, served as a co-author along with Dean and Southern Company Chair of Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering Raheem Beyah, Purdue’s Berkay Celik and Dongyan Xu along with Khaled Serag from Qatar Computing Research Institute. As renewable energy technologies continue to advance, new cybersecurity challenges emerge. Georgia Tech researchers aim to develop a new cybersecurity protection tool for forensics analysis in power grids, supported by a $4.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Led by Saman Zonouz, director of the OMS Cybersecurity Cyber-Physical Systems Track, the project will focus on cyber-physical data recovery and post-mortem forensics analysis after cybersecurity incidents. https://vist.ly/3mkkiyp

This past week, three Georgia Tech project managers took the stage at the Georgia Tech Student Leaders Conference, sharing how they’ve translated leadership experiences into industry success.Mustafa Shabazz, Project Management program lecturer; Sarvshreshth Kohli, program instructor and research lead; and DeMarco S. Williams, GTPE digital marketing projects manager, joined the GTPE-led “Student Leaders to Project Managers” panel. Together, they offered advice on gaining valuable project management skills to help students set them apart in the job market after graduation.
