- Capitalizing on the momentum of Climate Week NYC 2024, the Milken Institute hosted its third annual climate finance breakfast workshop and dialogue at the McKinsey Experience Studio to discuss strategies to recalibrate climate financing in the next decade of deployment from 2025-2035. Victoria Salinas, Senior Official Performing the Duties of Deputy Administrator for Resilience at FEMA participated in a fireside conversation moderated by Dan Carol, Senior Director for Financial Markets at the Milken Institute. Featured presenters included Linda-Eling Lee, Founding Director and Head of MSCI Sustainability Institute and Jonah Goldman, Head of External Affairs and Impact at Generate Capital. Following presentations, participants broke out into a series of interactive roundtable discussions spanning topics from resilience and adaptation financing to food systems as an asset class to critical minerals. Beyond Borders: Advancing Global Health Access in a Changing World 🌍 Yesterday, alongside the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA79), the Milken Institute convened a distinguished group of policy experts, global leaders, and health advocates for a vital discussion on advancing global health access at the Brightstar Capital Partners office. As global populations grow and age, and lifestyles evolve, many regions face increasing burdens from cancer and other non-communicable diseases. At the same time, we must address antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and end the global threat presented by deadly antibiotic-resistant infections. Ahead of this year’s UN High-Level Meeting focused on the global impact of AMR, our panel explored innovative strategies and investments for improving access to disease prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and treatment. The session featured a fireside conversation with Vanessa Kerry, MD MSc, Co-Founder and CEO of Seed Global Health and Special Envoy for Climate Change and Health at the World Health Organization.
