Thank you to Baruch Alumni Baruch College for such an honor to be the recipient of such prestigious Change Maker award. I’m beyond grateful to my amazing partner in crime, Lorena Kourousias, LMSW, MSPSY (my incredible wife), for being my constant source of strength and support! 🙌 This award isn’t just mine—it’s dedicated to the hundreds of students and thousands of families who’ve allowed me the privilege to stand by their side, guiding them toward higher education and brighter futures. A massive shout-out to my brilliant mentors and colleagues, Professor robert smith and Professor Stephanie Golob, for believing in me and nominating me for this honor. Kudos to all the awardees Baruch Change Maker for their incredible journey and inspirational stories. And to my unstoppable team at Roads to Success —this wouldn’t have been possible without you! Together, we’re transforming the lives of thousands of students across NYC, empowering the next generation through programs like Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) after-school programs, youth development, and college readiness. I am proud to also be part of two wonderful Initiatives in NY as Founder of MASA and cofunding board memeber the American Dream Charter School and many other projects. Lastly, to my family in Mexico, and especially my beloved late mother—your encouragement is with me always. You taught me to chase my dreams while staying true to my roots. Together, we rise.
