- Last week, Sabio's own DJ Agahi, stepped into the ring for Media Fight Night 2024—the biggest, most anticipated night on the UK media calendar. Media Fight Night is an unforgettable event and powerful fundraising effort supporting remarkable charities like Carney's Community and Off The Ropes. DJ has been training extremely hard since early this year, dedicating himself to the fight's physical demands and the fundraising outreach. All of us here at Sabio are so proud of his commitment, grit, and the inspiring example he set in taking on this challenge! Events like Media Fight Night remind us of the strength and unity in our industry—when we come together with purpose, we can drive positive change in our communities. A big heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported DJ, including those who traveled from afar to cheer him on in London, including our CEO Aziz Rahimtoola, Liz (Sarachek) Blacker, Katie Hoseit, and of course, his London Sabio team, Shez Iqbal, Ben Cork, and Nikita Chakravarti-Power. 📣 My Reflections on Media Fight Night 2024! 📣 On November 7th, I had the incredible honor of stepping into the ring for Media Fight Night 2024—an unforgettable event that holds a special place in the UK media calendar. This wasn’t just a night of boxing; it was a powerful fundraiser supporting truly inspiring charities like Carney's Community and Off The Ropes, both of which are making a real difference for so many people. Training for this event has been a challenging but deeply rewarding journey. Since early in the year, I dedicated myself to the intense physical demands of the fight while working on fundraising to maximize the impact we could make together. Every round of training reminded me of the real purpose behind the event: coming together to create positive change in our communities. I’m so grateful for the incredible support from everyone at Sabio and beyond—those who donated, cheered, and even traveled to London to be there on fight night. Special thanks go to our CEO, Aziz Rahimtoola, Liz (Sarachek) Blacker, Katie Hoseit, and my fantastic Sabio Global team—Shez Iqbal, Ben Cork, and Nikita Chakravarti-Power. Thank you to Seun Odeneye for being an amazing partner and friend the last 7/8 months. One of the best parts about this process has been getting to know him and having him alongside me on this journey. Sabio hosted a Latin dinner at WPP New York for their thought leadership program! This event spanned across all agencies within WPP in conjunction with WPP's "Amplify ERG." Our team Liz (Sarachek) Blacker, Helen Goldstein, and Irving Thomas served fresh empanadas, Aguas frescas, paletas, and churros with Mexican hot chocolate for dessert - qué rico! WPP's ERG held a fireside chat, and the night culminated with an incredible musical performance by Cáthia (Insta: @cathiamusic). Thanks to WPP and “Amplify ERG” for inviting us to host such a meaningful celebration of culture and connections.
