A fun Southern Hills tradition is hosting free photos with Santa for our colleagues and the community! This year, over 100 families joined us. Southern Hills Hospital brought holiday magic to Doris Hancock Elementary School, a Title 1 school in North Las Vegas, by adopting the entire school and providing joy and gifts to 420 students. In partnership with JE Dunn and ATM Electric, the hospital raised close to 600 toys, bikes, and clothing items for the students, making this holiday season one to remember. Doris Hancock Elementary serves a diverse student population, including foster students and children facing homelessness and poverty. The initiative, spearheaded by Southern Hills' Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee and Facilities team, ensured that each child could select a gift of their choice, creating moments of pure excitement and joy. Team Southern Hills was there as the school surprised students with the gifts, leading to screams of joy, excitement, and lots of tears. The numbers are in! Overall, HCA Healthcare collected 21,137 pounds of unused or expired medications during our sixth annual “Crush the Crisis” national prescription drug take-back day. This surpasses last year’s total and is the most our organization has ever collected during the annual event. Southern Hills Hospital collected a total of 20 boxes weighing 312.62 pounds. Sunrise Health System collected 32 boxes of unused or expired medication weighing more than 488 pounds!
