Today I sent this email to all The E.W. Scripps Company employees about the very difficult decision to wind down Scripps News’ 24/7 national news programming. This was purely a financial decision. It will result in more than 200 highly talented and hard-working journalists and others losing their jobs after Nov. 15. Scripps is working to find new roles in open positions for these people, and I also encourage my friends outside of Scripps to consider them for positions within their own organizations. At Scripps, we will continue to staff a smaller national team for our connected TV stream and in service of our local news audiences.
