About us

The Jones Center is a regional destination in downtown Springdale where everyone can learn, play and thrive. The 220,000 square-foot center features Northwest Arkansas’ only indoor ice arena — an important amenity for the growing region — as well as the Tyson Foods Fitness Center, an indoor pools complex, a gymnasium with indoor track and a conference center. The Jones Center hosts arts, cultural and STEM-based programming that celebrates the diversity of the region, as well as classes for all ages in sports, recreation and education. The center’s 50+ acre campus features the world-class Runway Bike Park and Velosolutions pump track and provides housing and collaborative space for dozens of regional nonprofits. The Center was founded in 1995 by Springdale philanthropist Bernice Jones, the wife of Jones Truck Lines founder Harvey Jones. The Jones Center continues to follow Bernice Jones’ vision of being a destination where all are welcome and no one is turned away based on their ability to pay. Through the generous support of the Walmart Foundation, The Jones Center proudly provides program scholarships and activity passes to area children and families. Big Night, Big Impact! On behalf of everyone at the Jones Center, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors and community members for joining us at Big Night 2024! Thanks to your incredible support, our sold-out event raised $260,000, which will help us continue providing accessible programs and activities for families throughout Northwest Arkansas. Special thank you to our event co-chairs, Bill Bowen and Leslie Leonard, for their dedicated leadership. To everyone who attended and contributed– you make it possible for us to fulfill our mission of creating a place where everyone can learn, play, and thrive. Mother Nature had a mind of her own, but the 2024 Jones Center Bike Festival went off as planned! Ages 2-10 got their first taste of competition at the OZ Kids Fat Tire Crit, while BMX racers tested their skills at the Pump Track Championship Presented by Hyper Bicycles. The bike festival is just one of the ways we bring diverse programs and experiences to Downtown Springdale. At events like these, we’re a hub for healthy, fun pursuits – where people of all ages, ethnicities and socioeconomic statuses can come to connect and be social. Our dream is for every child in Springdale to learn to swim. It's a big dream, but we are starting with a first step – teaching a class of local elementary students how to swim through our new Every Child Swims program. In September, 75 third-graders were swim tested at the Jones Center. 80% did not pass. In response, we are providing each of those children with #free after-school swimming lessons, including transportation. Swimming is more than a fun activity; it builds confidence and is a crucial lifesaving skill. Since the launch of our program, two more schools want to participate. At the Jones Center, a commitment to #diversity is in our DNA – woven into the very fabric of our organization. That’s why we’re thrilled to receive the 2024 LatinXNA Nonprofit Trailblazer Award by Serve2Perform! The award recognizes a #NWA nonprofit that consistently invests in initiatives to support and engage the #Latino community. Not only is the award a testament to our efforts in the workplace, it aligns with our mission to enhance quality of life for all community members. Friends, our hearts are EXPLODING to share that our 2024 Golf Event raised $165,000 for community programs at the Jones Center! Teams, sponsors and supporters from across the region showed up for our annual fundraiser and enjoyed an unforgettable day on the greens. And we loved every minute of it! 💙 All funds raised support our Access for Everyone program, which gives kids and families free and low-cost access to classes, programs and amenities at the Jones Center.
