About us

Overview In March 2016, the UNLV Board of Regents approved the framework and creation of the nonprofit corporation, UNLV Health, the clinical faculty practice plan of the the UNLV School of Medicine. The mission of UNLV Health is to provide a premier multi-specialty academic group practice and primary care physicians who strive to provide the highest quality health care. UNLV Health is a multi-specialty practice with over 350 employees, and 5 clinic locations with 151 providers. UNLV Health combines education and research within the treatment environment, and manages the faculty clinical practice. Through our clinical activity, our faculty practice plan supports the medical school’s missions of: • Providing exceptional medical care and superior patient experience. • Building clinical, education and research service lines and programs. • Translating leading scientific innovations into clinical practice. • Servicing the diverse health care needs of the southern Nevada region. • Providing learning experiences for graduate, and post-graduate medical education. • Be an environment for continuing education of physicians. • Maintain a fiscally viable clinical enterprise for the UNLV School of Medicine.

Dr. Richard Baynosa is pioneering a groundbreaking clinical research trial overseeing the first treatment-arm site activated, which will assess the safety and effectiveness of an investigational acellular dermal matrix (ADM) for breast reconstruction following mastectomy. This FDA-approved trial aims to enhance access, safety, and outcomes for women undergoing tissue expander or implant-based reconstruction, marking a significant advancement in postoperative care for breast cancer patients. “I’m honored to be a part of this trial as the first institution of a multicenter study made available to the local Las Vegas community and potentially the broader population.
