Serving West Point and the Long Gray Line; furthering the ideals and promoting the welfare of USMA.
About us
West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is the Alumni Association for the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point. Its mission is to serve West Point and its graduates (also known as "Long Gray Line"). Its purpose is to further the ideals and promote the welfare of the Academy. WPAOG was founded in 1869 to reunite Academy graduates who found themselves on opposing sides during the American Civil War. Today, it continues to strengthen the bonds of the “Long Gray Line” through communications and services to graduates, Classes, and Societies, and through building relationships with current Cadets at West Point…our future graduates. By Memorandum of Agreement with the USMA, WPAOG is the primary organization, other than the Army Athletic Association, authorized to raise private funds on behalf of the United States Military Academy. As a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation, its philanthropic pursuits maintain the “Margin of Excellence” at West Point, providing needed support for over 170 Cadet activities, cultural immersion programs, scholarships and facilities. The James K. Herbert Alumni Center, including WPAOG offices, event space, library, historical archives, gift shop and staff, is truly the heartbeat of the United States Military Academy for returning graduates who visit West Point. The Center provides a special place for alumni and their guests to gather, and for them to meet invited current Cadets. The Alumni Center also enables WPAOG to respond effectively and personally to the needs of West Point graduates. WPAOG publishes "West Point" magazine, "TAPS" magazine, and "The Register of Graduates." These publications may be purchased online or are available in the WPAOG Gift Shop. West Point graduates are welcome to join our West Point Association of Graduates LinkedIn group and to follow us on Facebook and Twitter. Visit our website to learn more.

Updates
- Each year, during the Ring Melt Ceremony, the West Point Association of Graduates takes donated class rings—symbols of service, sacrifice, and commitment—and melts them into a single gold ingot. The “Legacy Gold” retrieved from this gold bar from generations past, becomes part of the rings worn by the newest members of the #LongGrayLine. Through this extraordinary tradition, the figurative “grip hands” of the Long Gray Line becomes a tangible bond, imbuing each ring with the strength, wisdom, and principles of those who came before. 🎥 Relive the moments of the Class of 2026's Ceremony and the 25th Anniversary of the Class Ring Memorial Program: https://bit.ly/4hritRb #WestPoint #RingMelt #GripHands

Yesterday, 73 additional rings were donated and added to the gold that will become the Class of 2026's rings. As of today, a total of 968 rings have been donated to the Class Ring Memorial Program. Included in yesterday's ceremony: - Two rings from the Class of 1966 - Six rings donated by the 50 Year-Affiliates of the Class of 1976 - Two rings donated from Gold Star Families - The two oldest rings donated today from the Class of 1924 📰 Read more about the ceremony and the ring donors: https://bit.ly/4fVPrYT📸 See more photos: https://bit.ly/3E1IZSD
