The Nain Complex consists of a wide variety of rock types and intrusions, mostly anorthosite and mapped over an area of about 20,000 square kilometers.

Rock types range from anorthosite, norite, leuconorite, jotunite, fayalite-bearing opdalite, leucodiorite, diorite, syenodiorite, adamellite, troctalite-syenite, farsundite, charnockite, granodiorite, granite, to alaskite.

The intrusion has been dated at 1.27-1.48 Ga. The Kiglapait Intrusion is included in the complex.
