Type locality for glaukosphaerite. It was actually found earlier at other Western Australian nickel mines, but not of a sufficient quantity to be fully identified.

At the location, disseminated and massive mineralisation occurs near the base of a serpentinized unit in a zone of extreme talc-carbonate alteration. Pyrrhotite, pentlandite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, chromite, and trace galena is the primary assemblage. Violarite, secondary pyrite and magnetite form the supergene enrichment. In the oxidized zone is glaukosphaerite, nickeloan malachite, goethite, quartz, wad, and nickeloan chrysotile in a weathered talcose outcrop.
