Liverpool have enjoyed a 100% start to life under new manager Arne Slot and a number of claims have been made about the Dutchman in the aftermath of Sunday’s win against Manchester United
Andrew Robertson has spoken out after Liverpool's win vs Man United
Arne Slot has enjoyed an extremely impressive start to life at Liverpool.
Since taking the reins from Jurgen Klopp in the summer, the Dutchman has led the Reds to three wins out of three at the start of the campaign. Liverpol’s latest success came in the form of a 3-0 thumping of Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Given the Reds’ current form, it would not be bold to say that the international break has come at the wrong time. The Premier League takes the back seat for the coming fortnight, with a host of the Liverpool squad jetting off to all corners of the globe to join up with their national teams.
That does not mean there isn’t plenty going on at Anfield in the meantime. Take a look at the best headlines coming out of Merseyside over the past 24 hours:
Robertson compares Slot and Klopp
Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has praised Arne Slot for curing the Reds’ defensive frailty that started to appear under Jurgen Klopp. Liverpool can boast three clean sheets from as many games this season.
Speaking after Sunday’s win at Old Trafford, the Scottish left-back said: "We look a bit more secure defensively. We had a lot more control in our game today.
“It was 3-0 and it could have been more. You can't argue with three great goals scored. A clean sheet is massive. To come away to your big rivals like Manchester United and keep a clean sheet is massive.
"They always say clean sheets will win you things and that's always been the case when Manchester City have won the league and when we did. Three games without a goal conceded is really good and we want to keep that going.”

Owen makes title prediction
Ex-Liverpool star Michael Owen has claimed that the Reds - and not Arsenal - will be Manchester City’s nearest challengers for this season’s Premier League crown. He said: "If you ask Pep Guardiola who his biggest danger was it would be a toss-up between Arsenal and Liverpool.
“At the start of the season, he might have said Arsenal because you know what you are going to get – same manager, same players plus they have added one or two – but there was a little bit of a question about what would happen at Liverpool with the new manager.
"Is it going to be a totally new style? Are they going to take a while to adapt? All these questions. Of course the one good thing from a Liverpool point of view is they kept the squad.
"There was hardly any outgoings, it was a structured squad and he was walking into a squad that has a lot of players at the peak of their powers. There were questions about Liverpool but after three games you think 'wow it is going to take a special team to stop them. They have just swatted United aside'."
Van Dijk pays Bamba tribute
Away from Sunday’s Old Trafford thumping, captain Virgil van Dijk also ensured to pay a touching tribute to Sol Bamba after his death. The Dutchman said : "When I read the news it was quite tough.
“I played against him and had conversations with him. I just want to say 'rest in peace'. He's far too young. All the strength goes to his family.
“Hopefully the Premier League will do something after the international break. He is one of the good guys and his family deserve that."
