Henry Apple
Henry, a lifelong Arkansas resident, began his sports writing career as a stringer in Russellville in 1985 and began full-time status two years later when he was named the sports editor of the Helena-West Helena Daily World. He has also spent time at the Stuttgart Daily Leader, the Wynne Progress, the Jacksonville Patriot, The Sentinel-Record in Hot Springs and The Courier in Russellville. Henry moved to Bentonville in March 2006 when he was transferred to The Morning News and was retained upon the newspaper merger last year.
Henry has won numerous journalism awards through his career in sports writing in a number of categories, as well as his work on the design/copy desk. His last two awards came in the 2008 Arkansas APME contest, when he finished first and third in headline writing among the state's largest newspapers.
