Full Ladbrokes Bookmaker Review

Ladbrokes is such a good bookmaker. They cover so much across their product that it doesn’t matter what you’re into, you’ll find it on Ladbrokes. Every possible sport that you can imagine is covered. Of course there is horse racing, football and tennis, but to have fishing, beach volleyball, the GAA and rowing, plus plenty more really displays their commitment to offering something for everybody.

The only downside is that their odds aren’t market-leading, but that’s nit-picking. Their good, without being spectacular, but they make up for it with loads of price boosts, all clearly displayed from the off (as is their cash out options).

There are plenty of deposit/withdrawal options, the sign-up process is probably the most thorough in the entire market (you can’t start betting until you have proved your identity and your address) and the app is great.

If you like casino and virtual sports, there is that too, but in terms of their sportsbook alone, Ladbrokes remains one of the best around.

This Ladbrokes review was conducted across the desktop and mobile versions of the site, as well as on their app, so will reflect all three platforms. There are a lot of good things that Ladbrokes does. We conduct data on all UK bookmakers, reviewing how good they are at hundreds of different aspects of gambling. As it stands, Ladbrokes make our top ten in the country for darts, politics, entertainment, cash out and acca insurance. There aren’t many bookies that can match Ladbrokes for this high-end consistency.

Ladbrokes Live Betting

Live in-play betting is available on Ladbrokes, just look for the in-play section of their main menu. The offering is great. There’s some football, tennis and cricket, plus handball and esports. Look a little closer and you’ll find beach volleyball, badminton and table tennis. They’ve got most things covered.

Ladbrokes Live Streaming

With live betting comes live streaming and Ladbrokes do this better than most. Within the In-Play section of the site, you’ll see the menu bar list all the sports that are available to bet on in-play. Right next to them is a tab called “Watch Live”, and it’s this that directs you straight to any live streaming options at that moment. When I went there (on a weekday morning) there was tennis, snooker an darts, but other sports are included. Users just need to be logged in to watch.

Ladbrokes Betting Odds

Ladbrokes are one of the biggest betting sites online, as well as one of the leading high street bookmakers and are instantly recognisable from their logo. Universally known as 'The Magic Sign'. Ladbrokes are along with William Hill and Coral one of the best known UK bookmakers.

Above are details on which sports Ladbrokes were most competitive last month. The percentage figure demonstrates how often they were one of the best odds bookies, or joint best odds for each sport when compared with other bookmakers.

EG: 60% means if you used only this bookmaker for a sport, you would have got the best odds 60% of the time. You can quickly see where Ladbrokes outperformed their main rivals.

Ladbrokes Betting App or Mobile Site

The Ladbrokes mobile app does an excellent job in covering all your betting requirements when on the go. As well as the Ladbrokes sportsbook, there is gaming, slots, tables and casino options available, once you have initially downloaded the Ladbrokes app.

The A-Z sports tab was in the right place and the black coloured headers stood out and separated the different sections of the app. The menu was incredibly user-friendly, no whistles or bells, just a list of sports, exactly what you want. The Ladbrokes app didn’t all meld into one, which made finding what you were after simple.

The Ladbrokes app was one of the best apps we tested in the navigation category, in other words everything I was looking for on the Ladbrokes app I found easily. When you are packed in like sardines on a commuter train, or looking to place a bet whilst in the queue for coffee, placing a bet via an app needs to be simple.

The Ladbrokes app could not be faulted for ease of use. Take a look at the carousel of screenshots below, we think you will agree that it looks intuitive, even for novice bettors we expect there would be no issues. The Ladbrokes quick bet facility is a boon, when you select a price on an event a quick slip instantly opens, meaning you can get on in seconds. App users can also set a default start page, where having checked OLBG tipsters football predictions or horse racing predictions you can choose the football or horse racing start page.

Ladbrokes Football Betting

At Ladbrokes, the football odds are good, but on top of that there are regular promotions (the welcome offer is a football one), enhanced accas, odds boosts, and more, which definitely elevate it. There are price boosts, identified by the yellow arrow icons dotted about, and as expected, there is a huge variety in global leagues covered on top of the Premier League and major European leagues.

Bet Builder

The Ladbrokes bet builder is really good. You’ll find it under the “Bet Builder” tab and can combine different bets to create a tailor-made bet. Odds boosts allow you to get even better odds when you're betting on a specific event on a daily basis!

You can obviously use the welcome offer to place football bets, but on top of that there were a couple of football-specific offers that I could find in addition to the bet boosts.

There are loads of price boosts listed, as well as pre-made bet builders with boosted odds. You can also choose to supercharge your odds on selected markets on top of that. Ladbrokes features early pay outs if your team goes up two goals and there are a number of different free to play games. When you land on an American football section, you want to see game lines, with spread, total and moneyline markets right there. Thankfully, you get that at Ladbrokes. Some UK bookmakers try to Anglicise US sports, but removing the spread is completely the wrong thing to do as it’s the main thing punters look for from the off, so it’s great to see Ladbrokes avoiding this common mistake.

Basketball Betting

Ladbrokes, of course, covers the NBA, that’s a given. On top of that there are events for the top leagues around the world, including Greece, Spain, Italy, and Australia. In terms of specific markets, you’ll find moneyline, total points and handicaps, plus plenty more. You can also bet in-play, with odds available quarter by quarter. I’m pleased to report that in terms of darts betting sites in the UK, Ladbrokes is pretty good – in fact they rank no.9 in the country. You get great market coverage at Ladbrokes, with at least eight markets on most games, even during smaller events. For bigger tournaments that accelerates meaning that overall it’s hard for darts punters to find markets that they can’t bet on. In addition, Ladbrokes also regularly offer out free bets no deposit that you can take advantage of when making your darts bets.

Ladbrokes Snooker Betting

There are some price boosts today for World Cup games, some of which are very generous. Ladbrokes Motorsports Betting

There is a motorsports tab in the menu, but to be honest each different sport seems to have its own section already as there are tabs for Formula 1, Speedway, Motor Bikes. I’d guess the former is where smaller events, as well as international motor sports such as Nascar get listed. Overall, it’s really good.

Navigation and user experience [desktop v mobile]

Overall the navigation is very good. There’s a lot of information crammed into each page which may be a little disorientating for some, but I never found it hard to find anything and, to be honest, kept seeing little alerts or icons telling me about various things (if there is cash out, price boosts, live streaming etc) that normally you have to hunt around for. You definitely get the sense that people who bet regularly are involved in designing the product.

Reviews on both the App Store and Google Play are great, with both sets of users happy with the app. Ladbrokes's app has a rating of over 4 out of 5 on OLBG's best betting apps ranking with plenty of ratings provided.

Placing a bet

This section should only really highlight if there are issues, as the process is almost identical on every site.

Placing a bet on Ladbrokes is straightforward with the betslip instantly popping up on the side of your screen on the desktop site. This adds your selection straight into your slip with the speed of placing the bet after clicking it less than a second.

The app is fairly similar to the desktop site with the betslip going at the bottom of your screen as soon as you pick your selection on there. In-play betting will always be slower to place a bet but from the example bets that we did we found that the prices stayed the same for the few seconds it took for the bet to process in-play.

Managing your account

An integral part of any betting site is the account management side of things with the ease of access to various account details always important. Plenty of options are available in the My Account section of Ladbrokes including Bet History, Banking History and overall transactions.

Safer Gambling portals can be found in the account section too with Ladbrokes's safer gambling portal a brilliant tool to use on the site and app. Deposit limits, current time alerts, specific product restrictions and more can be found in the safer gambling section.

Ladbrokes Responsible Gambling Features

This is an excellent part of the Ladbrokes product. By going to their Responsible Gambling menu in the navigation, you can turn deposit limits on or off, and then obviously set what these limits are. You can also deactivate your account through their Self-Exclusion tool, add a timer to monitor how much time you’re spending betting or take a self-assessment test to monitor your behaviour more closely. Overall, it’s a really good showing.

“Great for the inexperienced”

I’m not a big bettor by any means, which will probably tell you that I need things very simple. The Ladbrokes site is easy to use, they get their market prices up early for events and they settle open bets quickly. They have a instant chat help section, which is great for the inexperienced as there is always someone there to point you in the right direction. I haven’t had any problems with them and recommend them regularly.

Easy to navigate,i like the way that if you deposit your money it goes into sections i.e sports,casino and gameslotto and suchit usually offers GP on horse races,every now and then a free loyalty bet is given.super fast transactions and payouts.their weakness is early prices on horses don,t offer that manyand football 1st goalscorers often short in price.but all in all ideal for 1st time punter.

“Improvements”

Ladbrokes deserve a mention, and a pat on the back, for the recent website improvements, which were much needed. They've simplified things, with a new drop down menu/navigation bar, meaning it's easy to find what you're looking for. It is what it is, and if you use odds comparison sites you will see that there are opportunities to benefit from betting here, just as elsewhere. On the matter of refusing bets, I really can't comment, as I've had no problem with Ladbrokes in this respect, but can understand that if restrictions are applied, I've suffered this elsewhere, then it becomes a waste of time trying to bet with whichever bookmaker has implemented the restriction.

“One of the best online bookies”

I find that Ladbrokes generally have competitive odds, and you get one daily boost per day, so if you're a casual gambler your daily boost usually puts their odds right at the top of the market. I've had my account for many years and only once had a minor problem (they initially didn't credit a free bet offer, but when I raised the issue they quickly resolved it). Overall, one of the best online bookies.

The site is easily navigated and every sport is covered but they are very picky about which markets they put on the app. For example top run scorers markets in cricket matches are not available, well they are available if you go to something like odds checker and go through all the palaver or if you can get to a shop but not on the app. Related bets are also an issue ,I tried to place a bet on the current T20 world cup top run tournament run scorer and wicket taker in two singles and an each way double and it was picked up as a related double online, I placed the exact same bet in the shop with no problem. So, some issues but generally a 'mid table' performance from Ladbrokes app.

“Don’t really like Ladbrokes.”

I used to use my local ladbrokes. Now i don’t. Since lock down I have used a few other bookmakers online. Haven’t been in my local ladbrokes for ages. Reasons being that their odds were always skimpy compared to other bookies. A know punters that preferred to travel a few miles to get better odds ( deals) than place money on with ladbrokes. Examples……another local bookie would offer say 10/11 on a football team. Ladbrokes offer 8/11.( makes a difference to a serious punter ). Remember once having a winning bet on Phil mickelson. I took 12/1 with ladbrokes. Heard that other bookmakers had him at 14/1 and even 16/1. There are many examples like that. And always Ladbrokes offered shorter odds. Don’t ever remember them offering better odds. Also noticed that Ladbrokes do not offer great ew incentives. Other bookies offer 5…6 …7 and even 8 places. Not Ladbrokes. And no real incentives in the free bet department. And maybe this is just a problem with ladbrokes in my area, but they were always slow in paying out a big bet. Sometimes taking days. So to sum up, I don’t like ladbrokes. Don’t like their shops. And wouldn’t sign up with them online. Sorry about that. Can’t like everyone.

“Read the terms first .”

I thought I had taken up a generous sign up offer only to discover that I did not qualify as I used Paypal to deposit my cash . I should have read the terms and conditions more carefully , my fault . It did not help , however , that the sign up page has a Paypal logo prominently displayed , saying that it was an easier option for signing up . This was a bit misleading . Other members please be aware . Saying that, the site is easy to navigate and the " boost " feature on certain races is a real bonus .

For what is one of the original High Street bookies, I have never liked their site, not the easiest to navigate round. I only use them if they offer the best prices. They are very tight with the offers

“Really slow and unresponsive website”

I'd love to give Laddies a better rating because I've used them for years and their odds are good, extras and promotions okay plus they do a pretty full offering on the gee-gees which for me is important. They do lack a good selection of pro-card ways to bet in a race plus they don't always offer great extra places for big races. They DO offer BOG which is good plus you can link your online betting to in-shop card which means you can cash out and review your in-shop bets online. The main problem with them is their damned website is SOOOO slow and nigh on impossible to use at times, particulalry when busy. I get the impression that they know they need an overhaul and to launch a good app to go with their products but because they are such a massive bookies, its going to be a big deal when they do it, Overall, a decent enough in store bookmakers but not one I'd rush to use online or if playing exotics. However, they are one of the more comprehensive bookies out there if you are intersted in multi-sport international betting.

I have been using Ladbroeks for 10 years or so, of late, they decided to make changes to my account, I can no longer benefit from any offers they have, BOG etc, I no longer recieve marketing emails, and I've had 2 bets accepted in a 1 month Period. Today I attempted to place a £2 bet at 40's, and was told that it exceeded the maximum they could except, and that I would have to ring! I also tried to have a £5 bet on the football at 9/4, was again told it exceeded my limit, priceless, and after 10 years with them!
