The Richey/Lambert Fusion girls track team were able to defend their Class C State Champion title at the Class C State Meet in Laurel, held May 28-30. Brynne Hill and Jolee Klempel placed in multiple events. Richey and Lambert will be celebrating the Fusion girls consecutive Class C State Championship on July 2. Joe Day Rider is the Richey/Lambert Fusion head track coach. The girls' team had a standout performance at the Class C State meet where they captured the Championship for the consecutive year. After state, Coach Day Rider was selected as "Coach of the Year" for the Class C Girls by a vote of other member coaches. He will be honored July 30 in Great Falls. The Class A State Track and Field meet was held in Laurel on May 28-30. The Sidney Eagles had 24 members qualify for state, 12 girls and 12 boys. Six team members placed in their events with a standout performance by senior Morgan Kindopp in pole vault. This was Morgan’s third consecutive state title in pole vault. This year, the ARS-MSU Dryland Field Day will be taking place on Thursday, June 25 at the ARS and MSU research farms. Registration begins at 8:45 a.m. at the ARS research farm with the first presentation starting at 9 a.m. There will be nine presentations given and one pesticide point available for participants. The day will conclude at the MSU research farm with a meal that is being provided courtesy of the Richland County Extension Office. Everyone is welcome to attend. The Savage Warriors girls' golf team played at the State C Golf Tournament, May 18-20, in Shelby and won. This is the team's second state championship. Team member Aspen Peterson was the class c state tournament individual champion. The team's first state championship was last year. Three Savage Warriors girls' golf team members went to state.
