Attractions

The town of Vryheid was very much involved in the subsequent Anglo-Boer War of 1899, making it one of the most interesting towns on the Battlefields route. This route traces the myriad battlefield sites and memorials dotted across the surrounding countryside. Popular activities in the area include fishing, Big Five game watching, bird watching and swimming.
