Loadshedding Facilities

What is loadshedding? It refers to the temporary suspension of electricity provided by Eskom, South Africa's electricity provider, to reduce consumption and thereby the load on the national grid. To compensate, South African property owners are turning to solar power, inverters with backup batteries or in some cases generators to keep the power on, wherever feasible.

The bedding kept slipping off: a smooth bed covering and blanket on top does not work? Duvet better? the evening meal forgot to bring soup as starter when asked for, the fish had a very strange tasting bitter batter.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at the Queens Hotel. Special mention needs to be made about their front of house staff who were wonderfully welcoming and helpful. Check beforehand if their restaurant is open as, since the pandemic, it is only open when the hotel has good occupancy. This is totally understandable. Try Anne's Bistro as an alternative. Breakfast was superb. All in all, a great choice.
