About Red Tin Roof
She is one of the grand old dames of the valley; a 100-and-something year old manor house that guards Riebeek Kasteel's south eastern entrance on Hermon Road.
Sam Rogers and Jacques Pauw - former award winning investigative journalists and documentary filmmakers recently revamped her from head to toe and decorated her with an eclectic mix of art and collectibles accumulated from their travels around the world.
Accommodation
The five en-suite bedrooms are stylish and cozy and set around a huge fireplace. All the rooms have balconies. Lounge at the pool all day and enjoy cocktails in the summer bar or watch your favourite rugby team on our enormous flat screen in the kroeg. Our chicken and Django our giant eared dog wait for you on the old, red stoep.
Please see the individual room descriptions and photographs below, to assist you with your choice.
Dining
The food philosophy is 'local is lekker' and their dishes are straight from jou ma se kombuis'. We've brought back old favourites like vetkoek, monkey gland sauce, snoek cakes, sosaties and chicken pie.
The Red Tin Roof has become the kuier plek in Riebeek Kasteel with regular music events. It is rated four stars and guests rave in their reviews.

Verified reviewvery good
Delightful place to stay, with friendly owners and staff. Just two comments which I hope they'll look into: the mattress in Room 1 sags in the middle, so it doesn't make for a comfortable night's sleep, and the bathroom plumbing needs attention. It seems it shares the plumbing with the one next door and we were disturbed by the sound of running water and loud screaming airlocks!

Quaint, relaxed and peaceful. Sam is an excellent hostess and always makes one feel at home - nothing is too much for her. Food and service is good. A good stay overall - fair value for money!
