Lisa Marie Presley did whatever it took to get her tattoo just right.

After the death of her son, Benjamin Keough, she was extremely distraught. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Lisa Marie's daughter Riley Keough shared how her mom wanted a tattoo on her hand to match one that was on her deceased son.

Lisa Marie brought a tattoo artist to the house, where she was keeping her son's body. The grieving mother kept her son's body in the house for two months after his death and wanted to get a tattoo to match one he had. Benjamin tragically died in 2020 after taking his own life.

Riley said: “On paper, I could see how this sounds completely insane and absurd but my mom was just very much herself.” She added: “She wasn’t a crazy lady she was just herself.”

Riley told the story to a gobsmacked Oprah

“This was just a moment where she wanted to get his name, she wanted to have a matching tattoo with him on her hand," the actress explained, "And the tattoo artist was there at my house and she really wanted the placement to be exactly right and he was like, Okay do you have any photos?”

To Riley's shock, her mother said: "No but I can show you.” The Daisy Jones and the Six actress couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “I stayed quiet because it’s my mom and she does what she wants but it was one of the most absurd moments,” she said.

According to Riley, Lisa Marie then told the tattoo artist: “My son is here, in the back room I can show you.”

“It was all very matter of fact,” Riley recalled when the artist saw the body, “He, god bless him, was very normal about the whole thing.”

“She opened it up and he looked at it and studied the placement,” Riley remembered, “And then when he left I was like did you know how f-----g crazy that was?”

This was just one of the many topics that Riley discussed during her guest appearance on 'An Oprah Special: The Presleys — Elvis, Lisa Marie, and Riley.' Throughout the special, Riley shared the details of her mother's memoir 'From Here To The Great Unknown' which she co-authored after Lisa Marie's heartbreaking death.

Lisa Marie's memoir details the life of the King of Rock n Roll's only daughter and her relationship to Elvis Presley as well as her own adventures. In an Amazon synopsis, some of the interesting stories covered in the memoir include: smashing golf carts together in the yards of Graceland, about the unconditional love she felt from her father, her lifelong relationship with Danny Keough, her deep addiction, and much more.
