As her younger brother Julian heads towards his senior year at Maryland, WNBA superstar Angel Reese has been on hand to make a heartwarming prediction before the new NCAA season

Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese spoke in glowing terms about her brother's basketball talents

WNBA superstar Angel Reese has predicted that younger brother Julian will have a "great year" at Maryland as he looks to build upon his best collegiate season to date last campaign.

The Terrapins power forward has followed in the footsteps of his elder sister, who played for two years at the University of Maryland before moving on to LSU. The younger Reese sibling has impressed too, averaging 13.7 points (on 54.6 percent shooting), 9.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.9 blocks in 31.9 minutes per game so far with the program.

The 6’9” starlet became the 61st player in the team's history to tally up 1,000 career points across his junior campaign - boasting 1,010 points and 689 rebounds from his 98 outings so far. Now, world-famous sister Angel has predicted that the highly-tipped ace will continue to impress during his senior year.

Taking to Twitter/X, Reese demonstrated her pride towards her younger brother as she forecast that he would make significant strides during the upcoming NCAA season. She professed: "My brother is going to have a great year. i'm calling it now. @Reese10Julian."

Speaking previously, Angel described how her parents pushed her and her brother as children, telling Women’s Health_: "_My mom coached me and my brother. Growing up, my mom coached a younger girl’s team, and they were fifth graders and I was in the third grade. I used to bounce the basketball around the gym while she's practicing and coaching and stuff. And I loved it.

“Basketball became something that I just was super passionate about because my brother also played and I wanted to be better than my brother. So we competed for a long time in front of our driveway and growing up with basketball in the family, it was just like, this is just what I love and it's in the blood.”

Likewise, back in 2020, Julian recalled a tender moment shared with his sibling, as he remembered their handing his mom a sweatshirt with a picture of him and his sister on the front. He told the Baltimore Sun: "It meant a lot to me. I felt like that was [my mom’s] top pick too, so I feel like that would have been a good surprise for Mother’s Day."

As for their mom, she has been eager to not put too much pressure on her children or play into any idea of a sibling rivalry. She said: “It makes for a good storyline indeed. However, I think it puts different pressures on both of them.

"For Angel, she is so highly ranked, so there’s a lot of pressure for her to immediately do well. And for Julian, he’s playing at the same school where his sister is already known. So he’s expected to do well."
