Gavin & Stacey fans cry 'we're not ready' as BBC issue sad update (original) (raw)

After filming for over a month, the BBC have officially confirmed that filming for the last-ever episode of Gavin & Stacey is complete. The cast have previously been spotted saying a fond farewell to iconic filming locations including Trinity Street and Dinas Powys, which is where all the Essex scenes are filmed, but they have all now played their characters for the final time.

Last night (October 7), the cast, including Ruth Jones (Nessa), James Corden (Smithy), Alison Steadman (Pam Shipman), Larry Lamb (Mick Shipman), James Corden (Smithy), Joanna Page (Stacey West), Rob Brydon (Uncle Bryn) and Melanie Walters (Gwen) were spotted leaving the Tadross Hotel in Barry and spent some time taking pictures with and signing autographs for fans. Gavin & Stacey lovers will know that the Tadross Hotel is better known for being the filming location for The Dolphin pub, which made an appearance in the last Christmas special.

In a post on their Instagram, the BBC confirmed that this will be the last time the cast will be together to film the iconic comedy. Captioning the image of a Gavin & Stacey: The Finale clapperboard, they said: "And that's a wrap... for the last time ever. See you on Christmas Day!"

This post has been met with both excitement and sadness. One person commented "We're not ready. Genuine", while another person added: "I'm excited if truth be told." Fans have been eagerly awaiting another episode ever since the last Christmas special ended before Smithy could give an answer to Nessa's proposal.
