  A Las Vegas couple needs help finding the driver of a white Jeep Rubicon that crashed into their Tesla head on at the Lee Canyon Rd and Deer Creek Rd intersection on Mount Charleston on Sunday, July 7. Their dash camera recorded the impact and aftermath.

  The owner, Radu Stefan, tells me the car malfunctioned after the crash and started driving. There is extensive damage to the front. He was able to stop the car by pumping the breaks, but it veered off the road. He says by the time he had control, the Jeep drove away.

  Stefan says the car was a retirement gift to himself about two years ago. It doesn’t have full-coverage insurnace, liability only. That means he and his wife are responsible for the repair costs, estimated between 15,000−15,000-15,000−20,000 unless the driver is located.

  Here are stills from the front dash camera and back of the Tesla. The Jeep did not have a front license plate. Stefan tells me he reversed his car to the intersection, but the Jeep was gone.
