Dr Fauci: "There is a fact that permeates virology, and that is: Viruses cannot mutate if they don't replicate." Put it on a👕
Pfizer puts out statement in response to numerous states saying they’ve been told their allotments of #covid19 vaccine have been reduced, & as FL cited Pfizer production issues as reason - noting no issues and millions of doses in warehouse they haven’t received instructions for.

Dr Fauci is *not* on board with administering just 1 dose of mRNA vaccines. At WH Covid briefing, he says: -neutralizing antibody titers go up 10x with 2nd dose -suboptimal response to 1 dose could inadvertently select for mutant strains
AMA president says he’ll continue masking indoors regardless of CDC’s updated guidance and recommends others do the same to protect those at higher risk:

Pfizer CFO on timeline for #covid19 vaccine for kids, today at Morgan Stanley conf: -results in kids 5-11 by end of Sept, filing for EUA early Oct -filing for EUA for kids 6 months - 5 years about a month later, early Nov (clarity on timeline for younger kids is new) (1/2)

Regeneron notes of report President Trump has antibodies: “Given the volume of IgG antibodies delivered in our therapy, and the timing of these tests, it is likely that the second test is detecting REGN-COV2 antibodies.”
The patient had a whopping (8g) dose of a #SARSCoV2 neutralizing IgG antibody cocktail. Then they detected antibodies. You must be kidding me, Dr. Conley?

Covering the drug industry, you usually hope you never have to try the products you report on. This one was different. Got my 1st shot of #covid19 vaccine today. Making spike proteins! Super grateful. #PlanYourVaccine #vaxxie

What vaccine makers are saying about B.1.1.529: -Moderna notes it's shown it can get into clinic (human trials) within 60 days; question is regulatory process from there. Manufacturing new doses could take a few months. -BioNTech expects lab data within 2 weeks (1/2)

Starting today, all three major insulin manufacturers are offering $35/mo caps on out-of-pocket costs. Also today, they’re cutting list prices by 70% or more - a move that’s expected to *save* them hundreds of millions of dollars a year.

Fauci: I’m not entirely sure what president was referring to, but believe it was a report of hydroxychloroquine and azythromicin. Many of the things you hear out there are anecdotal reports. They may be true - but the only way to know is randomized trials #COVID19
Putting in context Pfizer & BioNTech’s 90% efficacy for #covid19 vaccine: Measles (2 doses): 97% Smallpox: 95% Chickenpox (2 doses): 92% Seasonal flu: 40-60% Per
