call, song
Response to playback of rolling vocalization (playback recording used made by Roger Ahlman, from same locality) by an unseen bird in treeline elfin forest. The fact that it is accompanied by an unseen S. l. intermedius giving 'typical' song suggests that this rolling vocalization may also be of that species, but this has not yet been confirmed. I have heard this voice at Cerro Huicsacunga farther north on the same slope, at similar elevations.
