Daily Inspiration - nonreligious

I created this community as a chance to focus on the good things in life. As someone who has struggled with depression for many years, and who sometimes loses the path of hope in her own life, I am challenging myself to post a new quote, poem, or story every day for at least a year that inspires me in the hopes of keeping my eyes on the positive and maybe even inspiring others to do the same.

So, this is the community that I've created to help me fulfill that challenge. Any and everyone is welcome to post to this community as long as the content is hopeful and/or inspiring in nature. People are encouraged to post any of the following: quotes, personal stories, song lyrics, movie or t.v. quotes, poems, anecdotes, original music, drawings, pictures, sketches, and any other type of visual art.

RULES

1. All posts must be hopeful or inspirational in nature. This is not a place to show off your art or poetry if it doesn't fit the theme.
2. All posts MUST be properly credited. If you are using or quoting someone else's work, you must tell us who you are citing. If something is original to you, let us know.
3. This is not a religious community. While I recognize that religion can certainly be a source of hope and inspiration, and posts regarding religion are allowed, this is not the place to give your testimony or to try to convert other people. If you are found to be proselytizing, you will be warned once and banned on a second offense.
4. Be kind in your comments. In general, this community is for promoting the positive. You can feel free to dislike anything that doesn't strike your fancy, but if you can't say something nice about an offering, keep your peace, please.
5. Please don't tell us stories about things you have done to help or inspire others. Instead, tell us what others have done to inspire you. We're not interested in people coming around to blow their own trumpets about how great they are. If something you've done inspired -you- that's fine, but let's avoid the stories about how you sent an old lady a kitten and it brightened her day.
6. Please search using tags to avoid replicating already posted material.
7. Please tag your posts using the following guidelines:

a. Tag with the type of post it is. Use "quotes" (I have deleted the "quote" tag to avoid confusion), "lyrics", "poetry", "painting", etc. as well as subclasses such as "musicals", "plays", "novels", etc.
b. Tag with the author/artist of the cited work (use "original" if you are the author/artist). For speeches, novels, plays, paintings, etc, this is straightforward. For lyrics from a musical, you should cite the lyricist (i.e. hammerstein. oscar). For lyrics from a band, you should cite the band, unless you know it is a cover of an earlier artist's work. For movies and television, please cite the name of the movie or show. For photos, please tag with the subject of the photograph.
c. Please use full names in tagging and stick with a lastname. firstname(s) format. If someone is better known by initials or a title, you may add them at the end (as in: kennedy. john fitzgerald (jfk)). If someone is known primarily by ONLY one name (i.e. Ovid, Dante) you may use that name instead of a full name to avoid confusion. For band names, please leave off "the" in the name (beatles, not the beatles).

Ok, I think that's all. Spread the word about the community if you like what you see. I'd like the message of positivity to reach as many people as possible.
