Sie kann zeigen, dass beide grundverschiedenen Positionen entwickelt haben und Heideggers zentrale Unterscheidung des Umgangs mit Zeugs und des Handhaben von Dingen mehr zu bieten hat, als Ihde ihm zutraut: mit ihr lässt sich die Idee einer vollautomatisierten Fahrmaschine als Verwandlung des Fahrzeugs in ein bloßes Fahrding verstehen.

In urban areas, tunneling works inevitably interfere with the adjacent buildings. In the prelimin... more In urban areas, tunneling works inevitably interfere with the adjacent buildings. In the preliminary design stage, designers usually do not inspect buildings adjacent to the construction sites, because these activities are often too expensive. This paper presents the STATUS app, an Android application for mobile data collection. It was developed and tested by Geofunction Srls before the beginning of the tunneling works for the railway doubling in Cefalù (Italy). The system assists technicians during visual inspections and records the pre-existing architectural and/or structural damages in buildings adjacent to construction sites in real time. The output of the data collection is an official report printed and countersigned in situ by the technicians and the owners of the inspected property. The application was used for 1189 inspections inside 96 buildings. The aim of the paper is to show the benefits achieved through the use of STATUS app. It is also useful for several purposes: external risk assessment, damage prevention, damage reporting, preventing future legal disputes, and the free-rider problems. The application is released under closed-source license.

In meiner Rekonstruktion zeige ich, dass Ro-pohls normative Grundorientierung in einer Zeitdiagnose fußt, die er allerdings nicht expliziert. Aus seinem Beispiel ziehe ich die These, dass jeder Theorie der Technikfolgenabschätzung (TA) notwendig eine his-torisch-normative Signatur eingeschrieben ist. Um eine kritische Aus-einandersetzung über das Selbstverständnis und den Zweck von TA zu führen, gilt es, anders als Ropohl, auch die inhärenten Zeitdiagnosen sichtbar zu machen und zu diskutieren. Therefore, the locations of botanic gardens or seed banks imply the vicinity of agricultural land. This article exemplifies the transformation of plant collections into gene and data banks by investigating the Svalbard Global Seed Vault (SGSV) in Norway and the German Genebank for Fruit Crops (DGO). It shows that international efforts to safeguard biodiversity by intertwining them with bioinformatics infrastructure transform seeds and other plant genetic material into digitalized objects. The almost virtual genetic material, now stored without the neighborhood of acres or gardens , is, at the same time, seen as "options" for new high-tech plants, which might be transplanted to a future territory. Gemeinhin werden sie als Rechenmaschine, Medium oder Notationssystem adressiert. Unklar bleibt, welcher Status Computern als Ding überhaupt zukommt. Mit ihrer kritischen Neulektüre von Vilém Flusser und Mark Weiser legt Suzana Alpsancar zwei symptomatische Computerkonzepte im Diskurs des Digitalen frei. Sie zeigt, dass eine Reflexion der Gestaltungsmacht von Computern neben typischen Gebrauchsweisen gerade auch auf ihre potenzielle Widerständigkeit als Dinge abheben muss, um ihre Medialität angemessen erfassen zu können.
